Swoony Saturdate: Michael Larsen

Oh, wow… this has been on my draft for a very long time, but I’m now only going to actually write something down.

I’ve been promising this entry for a very long time. But better late than never, right?

Mammmaaa mia… here we go again. Oh, sorry, I just want to share I’m a new Abba fan. Any fans out here??

Now, let me tell you about Michael, this week’s #SwoonySaturdate…

Swoony Saturdates (1)

Michael Larsen is the male MC in The Kiss Quotient, which you might have heard of because it just came out early last month but have been receiving a lot of buzz from contemporary romance book dragons!

So here I am today to give you just a few more great reasons why you should read The Kiss Quotient and meet not only the lovely Stella, but also her equally lovely half-Vietnamese beau, Michael.

And since the author herself compared Michael to Daniel Henney, I’m sure none of you will have any problem about the visual aids I’ll be using for this lesson 😉

  • See that teacup he’s holding? Well, he chose to stick with tea, because he’s not going to drink just so he can drive you home, and make sure you’re safe and sound. This one’s definitely a keeper.

  • You know it’s not burger that tastes good, right? Okay, let’s take it from Stella’s account of the kissing lesson…

Here’s just a little bit of taste:

His taste flooded her senses. Butterflies exploded in her stomach and sped through her veins. Her legs went weak, but his arms tightened around her, keeping her from falling.

He sucked on her bottom lip and laved the sensitized skin before taking her mouth again. The room began spinning, and she realized she’d forgotten to breathe.

Coming for air, she said, “Oh my God, you taste good.”

Forget food, right?

  • Michael’s fashion sense is impeccable. He even tailors his own suits, and never fear, he can tailor you the perfect dress to match him, too!

  • We have here an overachiever. Not wanting to fit the stereotypical six-pack abs, Michael has an eight-pack (Stella counted!! Since she’s a numbers person, I think we can just take her word for it… or maybe not? I’d like to see it for myself… just to make sure.)

  • You can’t see it here obviously, but let me try and give you something to work on here. I’m talking about THE TATTOO, get your mind out of the gutter.

A dragon’s head, it’s mouth open in midroar, covered the entire left half of his wide, sculpted chest. The ink on his shoulder and arm formed one of the creature’s claws. The intricate scales of its body worked diagonally across his abs and disappeared inside his jeans.

But, why stop there, right? Well, now you can get creative.

  • He’s sculpted. Did I touch on this point yet? Hmmm… I can’t seem to quite remember.

  • Even without cologne, he smells really good. You’ll never want your own pillow again.

  • His fatal flaw, you ask? You won’t find it on his heel, but in his heart. He loves too much and gives up everything for the people he loves.

I’m sure you’re sad, but this fun lesson has reached its end. But some lessons need to be reviewed over… and over… and over. I don’t think I can master this lesson at all.. can you?

Thank you! Or… should you thank me? 😉

So, give me your thoughts about Michael… I’ll give you a few ogling seconds before you have to answer!

Sincerely Peachy (1)

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these…. did you miss me? I sure missed you all! I haven’t had time to browse your blogs as much as I used to. So I’d also like to take a brief moment to thank whoever takes the time to read my blog! THANK YOU! You don’t know how much it means to me.

And now… on to business!

Has anyone read Nyxia? It’s basically Hunger Games in space. It’s very good and one of my favorite YA scifis. I’m part of the blog tour of the upcoming sequel, Nyxia Unleashed so I would love it if you can stop by later this month – if you click to show the hidden header part of my blog, you can click on the banner there to see the full blog tour schedule 😉 I can tell you more about it, then!

Love à la Mode is actually not out till late November, but it kind of reminded me of The Art of French Kissing so I requested an ARC and got one on the mail as a surprise! And so far, so good! It seems liked it’s going to be a very yummmmy book.

Absolutely LOVED this! I thought it wasn’t possible, but I loved Lauren Graham even more than Lorelai Gilmore ^_^ Technically, I didn’t read this – I listened to the audiobook on my way to work (new workplace – it now takes me around 45 min to 1hr!!!) Not sarcastically, I’m actually loving the commute, because I get to listen to audio books, and I end up a happier person – I start my day right and I end my work day right!

Anyway, I loved it so much, that I bought a physical copy so I may scan through it again, and I’ll have to look at all the pictures throughout. Whenever she read “see Photo…” I felt kind of left out, not being able to see it. Oh yeah, did I mention, Lauren Graham herself read the audio.

Who else loves Gilmore Girls???

I was very impressed by Like Never and Always and am actually part of the blog tour and my stop is this coming Thursday….. so my lips are sealed till then!

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’d like to read The Court Dancer before release next month, and I’m actually excited. Fingers crossed, I can get to it before then and post a review for you all.

And, that’s a wrap.

Thanks for reading! I’d love to check out your WWW posts, so make sure to leave your links down below!

What have you been up to, reading wise?

COVER REVEAL: King of Fools by Amanda Foody

Oh, hi there! So, apparently, I totally missed the memo about the cover reveal for Amanda Foody’s King of Fools – book 2 of The Shadow Game series, and immediately following one of my most impressive fantasy reads for the year (probably) – Ace of Shades. And speaking of… you can go head over to my review of Ace of Shades so we can fangirl together and we can both be excited and can voluntarily torture ourselves as we wait for King of Fools.

Ummm… is it April yet? Oh right, 2018 isn’t even ooovvver yet. Right, we can’t skip Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Here’s the original cover reveal that was hosted by Sasha over on Instagram, so check out her feed – it’s stunnnnniing (for fans of Outlander‘s Jamie, you’ll see Sam Heughan featured on her feed ;)! ) Well… if that’s not encouragement enough, I don’t know what is.

I am honored to reveal to you the cover of KING OF FOOLS by @amandafoody!!! ISN’T IT A BEAUTY?! 🎲💙🎲 out April 30th, 2019! Here’s the description of Book 1, ACE OF SHADES: Welcome to the City of Sin, where casino families reign, gangs infest the streets…and secrets hide in every shadow Enne Salta was raised as a proper young lady, and no lady would willingly visit New Reynes, the so-called City of Sin. But when her mother goes missing, Enne must leave her finishing school—and her reputation—behind to follow her mother’s trail to the city where no one survives uncorrupted. Frightened and alone, Enne has only one lead: the name Levi Glaisyer. Unfortunately, Levi is not the gentleman she expected—he’s a street lord and con man. Levi is also only one payment away from cleaning up a rapidly unraveling investment scam, so he doesn’t have time to investigate a woman leading a dangerous double life. Enne’s offer of compensation, however, could be the solution to all his problems. Their search for clues leads them through glamorous casinos, illicit cabarets and into the clutches of a ruthless Mafia donna. As Enne unearths an impossible secret about her past, Levi’s enemies catch up to them, ensnaring him in a vicious execution game where the players always lose. To save him, Enne will need to surrender herself to the city… And she’ll need to play. #KingOfFools #AmandaFoody #bookstagram #AceOfShades

Back to the cover, I love the bluuuee, and of course, the pinstripe backdrop! I can totally see Levi wearing this kind of suit (ooohh, was that a double entendre?)

I AM SO EXCITED! 😀

COVER REVEAL: Kingdom of Ash – final installment in Sarah J. Maas’ Throne of Glass series!

Short Sunday post – also a little bit late! I had a pretty busy and fun weekend, so I saw this but only got to post it now. I thought some of you might have missed the announcement, too… so here is the complete lineup of the matching covers!!

Admittedly, I bought a copy of Tower of Dawn just after release date, but still haven’t gotten to it! I started it, and left off – but I think I’ll have to read it so I can get right to Kingdom of Ash when it comes out!

As for my thoughts on the cover, I’m glad they stuck to the theme – so now all the covers match perfectly! – and I think the gold looks beautiful. I don’t own any of them, because I just read library copies, but maybe I will buy the whole set if I ever want to reread them in the future (a very strong mayyyyybeee… since I can count on one hand the books I voluntarily reread..)

And since you might want them, here are some relevant links for your convenience 😉 Kingdom of Ash is out in October!

Now that’s taken care of, let’s chat!

Do you like SJM’s Throne of Glass series? What do you think of the cover for the final book? Are you excited??!

Who’s ready for The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy? SSSHHH, grab the ARC before the secret’s out ;)

Hey you! This will be a quick post.

I just wanted to share with you all that the ARC for The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats & Piracy (wow, that’s a mouthful!) is now out.

If you haven’t heard of it yet, it’s the sequel/companion novel to last year’s The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. Though I personally did not particularly love TGGTVAV, I certainly appreciated the badass Felicity, and at last, this one’s her story.

Not to make you any more impatient than you already are, here’s a link to the ARC!!!

Good luck, may the odds be ever in your favor, lovely reader!

How are things with you? As for me, I’m in a happy state of mind this week, and how I wish it will stay this way. I’m feeling very positive and have so many things I’m grateful for… mostly the fun times I have with my parents but also because I received happy news last week, and it’s just been a very blessed “freedom” week since Saturday 😀

Now, on to books…

Surfing, waves, and a shy girl – I didn’t expect how much I’d be enjoying Wavehouse, but it seems like a great summer read! It’s especially relatable to those who get extremely anxious in public.

It’s out on the 15th, but I’m part of the blog tour (hosted by Rockstar Book Tours) and my stop is on the 22nd which is next Friday so stop by then  to check out my full review!

Wow, my recent reads were just wow – all VERY good. Love & Luck is sure to be loved by those who love to travel, loves all things Ireland, and understand a sibling spat every now and again… I never had the chance to read Love & Gelato, but I’m excited to pick it up after this, and I’m looking forward to all other future works by Jenna Evans Welch. BTW, it’s kind of a companion novel to Love & Gelato so the characters make appearances. Sky in the Deep was surprisingly fast-paced all throughout and was packed with so much action and ferocity, I barely realized I was nearing the end. Thomas Paine & the Dangerous Word definitely did not disappoint – but you can check out my full review for the deeeets.

At long last, I got my copy of Legendary and hopefully it’s a satisfying read. The cover is beautiful, though. I’m also part of the Dive Smack blog tour (hosted by JeanBookNerd) so please stop by and check out my review on the 27th!

How are you, fellow busy bees?

Did you get to make time to read this past couple of weeks?

COVER REVEAL: Two Can Keep a Secret (from the author of One of Us Is Lying)

Heyyyy it’s FriYAY!!

Quick post to share the cover reveal for Karen McManus’ upcoming book set to publish in January 2019, Two Can Keep a Secret.

NOTE: The reveal was originally published on EW

I read One of Us Is Lying, and although I figured out the twist before the reveal, it wasn’t very obvious and I really loved the multiple perspectives. I’m hoping Two Can Keep a Secret will be just as enjoyable.

Goodreads synopsis:

The New York Times bestselling author of One of Us Is Lying, Karen M. McManus, is back with an all-new, page-turning mystery perfect for fans of Riverdale!

Echo Ridge is small-town America. Ellery’s never been there, but she’s heard all about it. Her aunt went missing there at age seventeen. And only five years ago, a homecoming queen put the town on the map when she was killed. Now Ellery has to move there to live with a grandmother she barely knows.

The town is picture-perfect, but it’s hiding secrets. And before school even begins for Ellery, someone’s declared open season on homecoming, promising to make it as dangerous as it was five years ago. Then, almost as if to prove it, another girl goes missing.

Ellery knows all about secrets. Her mother has them; her grandmother does too. And the longer she’s in Echo Ridge, the clearer it becomes that everyone there is hiding something. The thing is, secrets are dangerous–and most people aren’t good at keeping them. Which is why in Echo Ridge, it’s safest to keep your secrets to yourself.

Well, what do you think? Are you going to read it?

Have you read One of Us Is Lying?
